MTX Electronics OEM ECU & TCU File Database
MTX Electronics offers a comprehensive, fully searchable archive of original stock files for both engine control units (ECUs) and transmission control units (TCUs-in short, the firmware that orchestrates a vehicle’s electronic systems).
Advanced Search Tools for ECU and TCU Firmware
On the database page, you’ll find an advanced search engine engineered for real workshop scenarios. One of its standout features lets you upload a file you already have, allowing the system to analyze it and identify identical or closely related original firmware.
This becomes especially useful when you’re working with a tuned or modified readout and need to restore a vehicle to factory settings – whether for servicing, inspections, or resale.
Professional Tuning Analysis and File Comparison
For tuning professionals, the platform doubles as a technical analysis that you can use to compare map data, stack files, and inspect differences between modified and OEM versions or even between original files of different power levels.
With a broad, searchable library of OEM firmware at hand, in-depth study becomes faster, more structured, and far more accurate.
How the MTX File Search Engine Works
Two dedicated search fields make the process simple and precise:
1. Compare and Identify Similar Files (Upload Search)
Highlighted in yellow, this tool lets you upload a file and instantly receive the closest matches from the database, sorted by similarity percentage.
2. Search in the Whole Database (Keyword Search)
Designed for text-based queries, this field lets you search by identifiers or keywords and refine results using filters like brand, model, ECU type, or part number.
Coverage is extensive from everyday brands to high-end performance models, across both petrol and diesel engines. Whatever you work on, chances are you’ll find the right file.
Tips for Reliable Flashing and File Compatibility
💡 Helpful Tips
- All files you download remain stored in your dashboard for future access.
- Part-number searches aren’t always reliable since different tools may display different identifiers for the same firmware. The Compare and Identify Similar Files upload search is more accurate.
- Tools often read files with different sizes, which may cause compatibility issues. Always verify that your file’s byte size matches the one shown on its detail page.
- When available, check the Tool field to see the extraction method and tool used (OBD, Bench, Virtual Read). Matching tools ensures better compatibility.
- Verify whether a file is a partial OBD read or a full flash, depending on the job. Files in the database include only the flash area where tuning maps reside.
If you need additional memory contents for full ECU recovery (MCU / EXT.FLASH / EEPROM), contact support beforehand to confirm availability.
For VAG SGO/FRF downloads, many packages include both the original SGO/FRF file and a BIN conversion. The BIN is provided for reference only flash it only if you have experience and have confirmed full compatibility with your flashing tool.
